Personal profile

I am an HDR-UK funded research fellow and epidemiologist, with extensive experience of using R and Stata to analyse complex healthcare datasets. I have strong project management and interpersonal skills and have experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders. I am committed to open science, the team science approach, and building skills in others.

Professional History

Senior research fellow, Division of Psychiatry, UCL, October 2025 – present

  • October 2025 – Present: HDR-UK funded fellowship to investigate cancer and heart disease in people with severe mental illness using routine data.

Research fellow, Division of Psychiatry, UCL, November 2022 – October 2025

  • June 2024 – October 2025: HDR-UK funded fellowship
  • November 2022 – October 2024: Used electronic health records from across the UK to investigate cardiovascular risk factor screening in patient with severe mental illness and used target trial emulation to investigate the impact of statin prescription on psychiatric symptoms of people with severe mental illness.

Senior researcher, Respiratory Effectiveness Group, March 2017 to September 2019

  • Used electronic health records to conduct research in respiratory medicine, using R.
  • Project managed 14 working groups, consisting of Key Opinion Leaders and experts in the field.

Lead epidemiologist (verocytotoxin producing E.coli; VTEC), Public Health England, Jun 2011-Apr 2015

  • Led the epidemiological analysis of the national VTEC enhanced surveillance database, using Stata.
  • Wrote scientific publications, outbreak reports and media releases.
  • Investigated national outbreaks of VTEC and provided expert advice in local outbreaks.

  • Conducted outbreak investigations and analysed laboratory data using Stata.
